Description
Myringotomy – Grommets Insertion
This procedure is often performed in children with chronic ear infections or fluid build-up behind the eardrums. During the surgery, small incisions are made in both eardrums (myringotomy) and grommets (small tubes) are inserted to facilitate fluid drainage and prevent future fluid accumulation. The tubes usually fall out on their own after several months as the ear heals. Patients benefit from improved hearing and fewer ear infections.
